How to Get Nail Polish Out of Clothes?

How to Get Nail Polish Out of Clothes by Indian Clothing Stores

Don’t be alarmed if your nail polish has ended up on something other than your manicure. One of the simplest contaminants to strip from clothes and other kinds of fabric is nail polish.

Follow these professional tricks to get rid of even the worst stains from clothes, carpets, couches, and other surfaces.

Step 1 – Place the Stained Cloth on a Few Paper Towels

Place the stained cloth on a few paper towels, face down. The stained part of the cloth should be against the paper towels. If the nail polish is wet or dry, use this tool.

Cotton, linen, silk, denim, and most other fabrics respond well to this technique.

If the object in question includes acetate or triacetate, proceed with caution because nail polish remover melts fabrics that contain these materials.

Step 2 – Using Acetone

Blot the stained region using Acetone. Blot the backside of the cloth with an acetone-soaked cotton ball or paper towel (available in drugstores in the nail polish remover section). The stain is transferred to the paper towel as a result of this operation.

Step 3 – Rinse and Repeat

Rinse and repeat as required. Rinse the stained region of the clothing item in the sink, and lay it face down on a new selection of paper towels. To finish moving the stain to the paper towels, repeat the blotting operation.

Rinse the cloth again and add more acetone until the paper towels no longer turn the colour of the nail polish after blotting; this means the stain has been removed.

Step 4 – Clean the Piece of Clothes.

Clean the piece of clothes. On the previously stained spot, use a stain remover substance, and then wash the item according to the washing instructions on the packaging. When dry, the stain should be gone and the piece fit to wear.

Will a nail polish remover that isn’t acetone work? Is that still the case?

No, acetone is needed because the chemical reaction between colour and acetone causes it to come off.

Is it true that 100% acetone removes the colour from your clothes?

Yes, it can lighten the hue of the field, almost to the point of bleaching it.
